From Civil Engineer to holistic Health Educator & TCM Practitioner
After 19 years as a Civil Engineer, Tay made a purposeful transition into holistic health, driven by his passion to help people improve vitality and quality of life. He began working with energy-based wellness technologies that support circulation and cellular vitality, benefiting individuals and families in Singapore and Malaysia in building resilience and overall well-being.
With a strong background in physics and engineering, Tay pursued extensive self-study in cell biology, biochemistry, nutrition, physiology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). His goal was to bridge modern scientific understanding with traditional wisdom, focusing on supporting the body’s internal balance rather than managing symptoms alone.
In 2007, he established GI Life Sciences, expanding into herbal formulations and functional foods to address modern lifestyle and nutritional gaps. He later in 2008 introduced non-invasive metabolic energy assessment technology (ESG) into his practice, strengthening the company’s holistic approach by offering insights into the body’s functional balance in line with TCM principles of systemic harmony.
Tay has shared his experience with healthcare practitioners across Asia and actively promotes preventive health through public education and community outreach.
Committed to professional standards, Tay formally pursued TCM and graduated with a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine (Guangzhou) from the Singapore TCM College.
Today, GI Life Sciences integrates health coaching, licensed TCM consultation and treatment, functional nutrition, and energy-based wellness support to provide personalised, ethical, and professional holistic care.
Our mission is simple:
